ALLEPPEY or ALAPPUZHA
Alleppey or Alappuzha is known as Venice of east, built in 19th Century . The City of Alleppey is the cleanest city in India, its freshwater canals, lakes, sandy beaches are very clean and beautiful to see. Located 53 km from Cochin, Alleppey is the favorite honeymoon destination in Kerala mainly due to the Houseboat and backwaters. A day spent cruising in the lake with the traditional Kerala cuisine and night in the Houseboat makes the day memorable for everyone.
Alappuzha or Alleppey – is the center point of Kerala's backwaters, home to an immense system of waterways and more than a thousand houseboats. Meandering around the little yet disorderly downtown area and Bus stand area, with its humble framework of waterways, makes Aleppy the 'Venice of the East' . In any case, travel west to the shoreline or essentially some other way towards the backwaters and Alleppey ends up noticeably smooth and greenery-bordered, vanishing into a watery universe of towns, punted kayaks, toddy shops and, obviously, houseboats. Kerala Holiday is incomplete without a visit Aleppy backwaters.
